Do you offer ready made baked goods and what are your store front hours?
- We no longer offer daily grab-n-go items and only do custom orders. Since we no longer offer daily grab-n-go items we are currently going by appointment only. We would love to schedule a consultation with you so please email us LKN@theicingandthecake.com or fill out our contact form on our website.
How far in advance should I order a cake?
- Please allow at least a 1-3 month notice on all orders. Last minute cake orders may be fulfilled depending on the complexity of the cake and availability.
ORDER CHANGES
- We require at least a 1 week notice for All changes. No changes to size, flavor or decoration can be made after this time. We are always happy to add cupcakes to orders in the event that you need to serve more guests.
Do you require a deposit on cake/sweet orders?
- A 50% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT REQUIRED FOR ALL ORDERS. Last minute cake orders must be paid in full at time of order. Deposit refunds will not be made for cancellations and are non-transferable.
- Orders are not booked and confirmed until we have received a deposit or full payment.
- All credit card transactions will incur a 3.8% transaction fee.
LAST MINUTE ORDERS
- Last minute orders (within 72 hours from pickup date) are Final when placed & cannot be changed.
CANCELLATIONS / MISSED PICK UPS
- We require at least a 1 week notice to cancel an order. The non-refundable deposit will be applied as a credit to your next order in the event that a family emergency has postponed your event and you have given us at least a 1 week notice.
In the event of Missed or Forgotten Pickups, we make every attempt to contact you. It is very important you arrive during your scheduled pick up time as we may not be available before or after this time. Your order will be available for pickup the following business day if we are available, but you are responsible for the remaining balance in the event of a no-show. Deposits will not be refunded.
NO REFUNDS
- We promise to do our best to provide the best tasting & best looking cakes & bakery items around. Custom orders are created with love by our talented staff just for you. Please keep in mind that no two pieces of art made by people are ever exactly alike!
Once an item has been picked up by You or Your Designated Party, and Leaves Our Shop, it is considered “Accepted”.
In the event that we have made a major mistake to the design theme (butterflies instead of dinosaurs for example) and you alert us at the time of pickup, every attempt will be made to correct this error in a timely manner, before you leave our shop. In the event that we are unable to correct our mistake before your event, you can choose not to accept the cake and will not be held responsible for the balance due. While it makes us very sad to make mistakes, and we will never knowingly disappoint you, please remember that people, not machines are designing your cakes. No refunds will be given for color selections or minor design discrepancies.
TRANSPORTING
- You are responsible for transporting your order home safely & we are not responsible once an order leaves our premises. Cakes should never be placed on seats! Place them on the floorboard of the vehicle so that they are level.
Do you provide specialty cake consultations/tastings?
- We do not provide consultations/tastings for cakes that serve less than 75 guests, and a $500 minimum is also required.
- We require at least a two-week notice for appointments. You can see our availability through the "book a wedding cake consultation" link at the top of the page. When booking an appointment, an email will be sent to you prompting for more information before we accept your request. Please reach out to us on our "contact us" form first before booking your appointment!
- Please have as much information ready as possible when placing your orders regarding guest count, flavor choices, cake shape, theme & decorating ideas so that we may assist you in a timely manner.
If you want a specific cake design, we ask that you drop off or email a picture for us to coordinate with. If no picture has been received prior to 1 week in advance of your pickup, we reserve the right to use creative judgment when we feel it is necessary to have your cake ready by the pickup time that you have selected.
Do you have a price list?
- Our cakes tend to average $8 a serving. Prices vary based on cake design, flavors, fillings, and labor involved. Cake price quotes are final unless design elements are changed.
- Gourmet Cupcakes start at $60 a dozen ($5.00 each). They are much larger than a standard cupcake and filled.
- Cake Pops start at $36 a dozen ($3.00 each)
Do you ship your cakes?
- No, we do not ship our cakes at this time.

Do you provide Wedding Cake consultations/tastings?
- Yes! Wedding cake consultations are available by appointment and accommodate two people, and include a sampling of four of our most popular flavors, plus icing and fillings. This is a set menu. The consultation takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Please keep in mind that we may have consultations booked before or after yours. Please come on time so we have the full hour if needed.
- Consultations are $35.
- Consultations are typically booked Wednesday & Thursday between 10am-3pm and Saturdays between 10am-1pm. Saturdays book up quickly.
- We require a minimum order of $500 for deliveries. If our minimum is not met someone is welcome to pick up the order.

For your convenience, we do accept phone consultations for wedding cakes and can place your order this way in the event that you are unable to come in person for the consultation.
How much does a wedding cake cost?
- Our cakes start at $6.50 a serving. Our wedding cakes average $750-$1500 serving 100. Prices vary based on cake design, flavors, fillings, number of people being served and labor involved. Cake price quotes are final unless design elements are changed.
Do you require a deposit on wedding cakes?
- Wedding cake orders require a non-refundable security deposit of 50%, which is applied to the final balance. Final balances & all changes are due 30 days prior to the scheduled delivery date.
Do you have cake stands available for rent?
- Yes! They start at $35 per stand and require a cash/credit deposit that will be refunded when the stand is returned. We do need them returned within 3 business days.
What is your delivery area? What do you charge for delivery?
- We are willing to travel anywhere our cakes can safely be delivered so please contact us to inquire about a specific location.
- We only offer delivery services if our $500 order minimum is met. Delivery and set up fees are additional.
